The biggest part of the kit Sims 4 Créations en Cristal happens around this gemmology table. This is where your Sim can practice cutting stones. The table is, of course, available directly in Purchase Mode, for 650 simflouzs.

By clicking on it, you'll notice two main options: cut a stone or create a jewel.
Cutting a precious stone
The first option lets you carve a stone directly for display or resale. You can choose different sizes from :
- Arrow-shaped gemstone
- Cabochon size
- Emerald cut
- Seed size
- Pear-shaped gemstone
- Bright size
- Star-shaped gemstone
- Skull size
- Heart-shaped gemstone
- Plumbob-shaped gemstone
- Gnome-shaped gemstone
Once you've decided on the shape, you can select the crystal to be used. This choice is of the utmost importance, as it will determine the effect the gemstone will have on your characters. Note that, for most crystals, you don't need to have found the stone or have it in your inventory to use it - you can buy one directly. Only the most precious ones, those with the most powerful effects, need to be collected first.
The effects of the stones will only be active once their energy has been recharged, but we'll come back to this later in the guide. Here is the list of effects depending on the crystal chosen:
- Orange topaz Creative skills learned faster / Increased chances of creating a masterpiece / No more blank-page anxiety
- Fishing: Relations with family increase more quickly / Angry state of mind disappears more quickly
- Sapphire : Faster learning of mental skills
- Emerald : Increased chances of success on career or school opportunity cards
- Pink quartz : Decrease in the time needed for a Sim to recover from a break-up / Social need no longer decreases
- Turquoise : Charisma skill learned faster / Increased chances of successful social interaction
- Alabaster : Angry, Embarrassed, Sad and Frightened states of mind that disappear more quickly
- Citrine : Sim will randomly find money at home
- Jade: The Sim will randomly find gems at home
- Quartz : Twice as many satisfaction points for each envy or aspiration achievement
- Ruby: Embarrassed state of mind that disappears more quickly / No more awkward romantic interaction / No more awkward poontang
- Amethyst : Increased energy recovery in sleep / "Lucid dream" state of mind upon awakening
- Hematite : Makes a Sim immortal, unless it dies of old age.
- Simanite : Faster performance at work or school / Increased homework speed
- Fire opal : Higher odds of successful romantic interactions / Higher odds of successful dating
- Shinolite: Increased chances of having twins or triplets
- Moonstone : Blasé state of mind that disappears faster
- Diamond : Reduced risk of relationship-related fear / Reduced deterioration in romantic relationships / The "apologizing in bed" action will always be a success
- Jet : Possibility of invoking the Grim Reaper / The "Invoke the Grim Reaper" action will always be successful
- Jonquilyste : The need for entertainment no longer diminishes / Tense state of mind disappears faster
- Arkensiel: Reduces the risk of developing fear / Unlocks the benefits of the "Courageous" trait
- Plumbquartz : Sim's needs slowly improve automatically / Sims around you become happier
- Amber: Reduced risk of certain interactions failing / No more cooking fires / Weather stays sunny
Once you've made your choice, it's time to start sizing!
The resulting stone is a little larger than I'd imagined. You can now sell it and make a few simflouzs or display it on a shelf, for example.
Custom jewelry design
This is the kit's second big innovation: in addition to simply cutting stones to the desired shape, you can create jewelry from scratch! Everything is more or less customizable, but if you're a bit lazy, you can also create a random piece of jewelry directly for 300 simflouzs, without knowing in advance what the result will be.
As with precious stones, you have several choices to make. First, the model. This is the shape your jewel will take: a necklace, a bracelet, earrings, and their form. There are several of each type, unlockable at each skill level.
Next, the choice of metal from which your jewel will be made. Most metals have a description with some sort of disadvantage, but they don't appear in the rest of the process, so a priori, this choice has no impact other than to change the color of your jewel.
And finally, as with precious stones, you can add a crystal to your jewelry. Not all jewels have a slot for one, like bracelets. If you do put one in, it will have the same characteristics as the stones listed above, once recharged on a crystal grid.
Gemmology skill levels
The Gemmology skill consists of 10 levels. Most new levels unlock different size patterns or types of jewelry.

- Level 6 : Increases the number of crystals and metals found by digging under stones / Mystic jewelry / Etoile gemstone cutting
- Level 7 : Increased speed for jewelry making or stone cutting / Botanical jewelry / Skull gemstone cutting
- Level 8 : Bijoux gothiques édouardiens / Taille de pierre précieuses Coeur
- Level 9 : Increases the number of crystals and metals found by digging under stones / Starry navigation jewelry / Plumbob gemstone cutting
- Level 10: Increased speed for jewelry making and stone cutting / Plumbob jewelry / Gnome stone cutting
The effects of gemstones
The effects of cut stones were briefly discussed earlier in this guide. For their effect to be applied, you need to purchase a Crystal Grid in Purchase Mode. This is a sort of display rack on which you can place several rocks or jewels.
For the effects to work, you need to recharge the crystals with energy. This is done outside, every evening, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Once your stones are charged, you can take them back and have them worn by your Sim or stay nearby, and you'll soon see the first states of mind appear.
Another stone, another advantage. From level 3 of the Gemmology skill, you can carve a seed-shaped stone. The special feature of this stone is that it can be planted, allowing a crystal tree to grow!
Like the trees and other plants, you'll be able to harvest the fruits: crystals! These crystals can, of course, be reused in your next jewels.
