Farmland
Farmland is back for a final update, and just like Brookheights Legacy, it now uses a 64×64 terrain to play. New gardening items, new features,...
Plumfruit and Farmland are mod names that may ring a bell if you follow the community's creations. These are two mods created by Arnie that bring some very nice new features to the game. Arnie retired from modding a few months ago, or even years ago now - time flies - and his mods are no longer updated, but he has released them in "Legacy" versions, which are stable, simplified as much as possible and which, in principle, will not need patching in the future.
This week we take a look back at the content of the Farmland mod, which may have lost a few features in the process, but is still fun to use!
So, let's get back to basics. Farmland is now a 64×64 terrain containing several special farm-themed parts:
- A supermarket for selling and buying seeds, vegetables and fruit
- A farm owned by George, whom your Sim can help with his chores. The land contains his fields, barn and house.
- A market to sell farm produce
- A mill
Before continuing, an important clarification: the mode does not require the Country Life pack. Only Seasons and Cats and Dogs. So you can have a farm without the expansion pack!
Having the pack will still unlock a few extra features like new animal shelters or cheats to make animals appear.
How do I install Farmland Legacy?
It's not very complicated to install Farmland, but there are a few steps. First you download it from Arnie's website, so far everyone's following along. Then you can install the Farmland terrain and the farmer's home from the "ArniePlus" gallery.
Managing new animals
That's enough to keep your farm busy! Animals don't give you meat, and you can't kill them, but they do give you farm products like sheep's wool, eggs, honey, etc. And to harvest all this, you can make friends with your new animals!
Cultivating fields
Cultivation works in much the same way as gardening in The Sims 4. You can plant seeds directly in the ground or in a planter.
You can plant several plants by pressing the Shift key and clicking on the ground, for example. The plants will then need regular care. You may need to use the irrigation system, the greenhouse or the insecticide. You can also play under the automatic sprinkler - no one will judge your Sim...
Send your Sims to the supermarket
If your Sim likes short-distance shopping, you can send him or her to the little mini-market on the farm grounds. It contains all the fruit, vegetables and even fish needed to make the best dishes!
