The Hobby Mod
Hobby Mod adds 10 preferences to CAS. Each of these preferences is inspired by the ten leisure tracks of the Sims 2 Freetime Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Movies & Literature, Fitness, Games, Music & Dance, Nature, Science, Sports & DIY.
Preferences can be added to a Sim via an interaction, which can be found in the Leisure category when you Shift+Click on a Sim. You can also randomize a hobby preference here.
Random hobbies
The Randomize interaction can be found in the Hobbies category when you Shift+Click on the Sim. When you choose to randomize hobby preferences, the mod takes into account the Sim's traits, aspirations, skills and preferences and suggests a hobby that should make sense. After a few months of testing, the success rate is very high, but sometimes there are surprises. Many thanks to ChippedSim for coding this!
Each preference has its own set of wishes, and these are directly inspired by hobbies. They serve as a guide to the things your Sim wants to do, related to his or her hobby.
For example, a Sim with a Nature hobby may wish to garden; a Sim with a Science hobby may wish to use a telescope; and a Sim with a Music and Dance hobby may wish to visit a nightclub.
Traits have no state of mind or interactions associated with them; just whims.
