As in other Sims games, each character has a career and a level of evolution in his profession. Some of the quests of the game require a particular level. To progress, all you have to do is complete quests, responsibilities or career-related activities.
Bard
Bards are unlocked with the tavern. They can use the stage to play coins, the lute, the scribe's table or the archives.

Bards can write plays and poems using the scribe table. Beware, before putting his great ideas on parchment, he will first have to find inspiration. It can be found by going for a walk in the kingdom, looking at the stars, going into nature, etc...
Once the play or poem is written, you can perform it for other sims or sell it. You will earn some simflouzs and XP. Note that the more plays or poems you do, the more rewards you will get.
Blacksmith
Blacksmiths create weapons and armor for the knights of the kingdom. They unlock with the forge and can use the anvils and the market stall to sell their creations.

To use the forge, the blacksmith must first obtain the various ingredients needed by mining the small mounds of dirt you may come across on the roads or by going to the village store to buy them. Once you are ready, put the coal in the forge and select the recipe you want to create. As with cooking, the recipes available will depend on your level.
The levels on the side of your screen will help you produce a quality object. Heat, quality and progress are specified. Heat is a central element that you can act on by putting water if it is too hot to avoid losing the piece or by going back to the forge to warm it up.
Jacoban priest
This is one of the two religions offered in The Sims Medieval. Jacoban priests live well and want to impose their religion by all means. They are unlocked with the cathedral and can, of course, use the pulpit to deliver their sermons.

In the cathedral, the priest has the opportunity to give sermons. Like masses, they are held at specific times: 8:00 am, 1:00 pm, 6:00 pm or 11:00 pm. Set the time you want to start and read your book to the audience. The purpose of Jacoban priests is to instill fear. You will have an indicator on the side of the book to show your success. In addition to the various battles, knights can go hunting in the forest. You don't particularly have control over what you bring home unless you are following an ongoing responsibility.
There are several types of swordfighting: training, duel and combat to the death. Your success will depend not only on your level, but also on the equipment you're wearing. As you fight, two gauges will gradually decrease: your health and your stamina. The rate of decline depends on the two factors mentioned above. As soon as one of the gauges reaches zero, for either you or your opponent, the fight stops. You have several strategies for influencing the outcome of the battle:
- Balanced position: Balanced defense and attack
- Furious attack : Powerful attacks but strongly reduced defense
- Precise strike: Increases the number of strikes inflicted but they do less damage
- Restful dance: Decreases your stamina
- Steel Defense: Reduces damage
Merchant
Unlocked with the market, merchants can of course use the stalls and the scribe table.

Merchants deal with imports and exports in the kingdom. They can send goods on the ship to your neighbors. Note that before you can export to them, you must first import other goods.

In addition to the various combat abilities, the ruler has several administrative responsibilities. Regularly, you will have to listen to the requests of your subjects by clicking on the throne. They will come to you with dilemmas. One of the solutions will cost money and increase popularity, the other will cost nothing but decrease your image.
In your quest to unite with your neighbors, you will have to think tactically around a map. Different laws are at your disposal. Each one will have a positive or negative impact on a neighbor. It's up to you to choose with whom it is more interesting to unite.
Petrified Priest
Unlike the Jacoban priests, the Petrians take a vow of poverty in their monastery.
