The Sims 4 Wedding pack introduces a whole new way of organizing weddings in the game. Let's take a look at this new organization for preparing the "happiest day of your sims' lives"!

Planning a Sims 4 wedding
To get started, open the calendar. You can also use your phone or computer, but the event will start straight away. With the calendar, you'll be able to choose the day and time, which is much more convenient.
You will notice the arrival of a new "Add an event" in pink that is intended for weddings. By clicking on it, you will be able to choose the type of event to organize.
- Renewal of vows: A small ceremony accessible only to Sims already married to allow them to renew their vows.
- Wedding Ceremony: The classic event in the base game.
- Rehearsal dinner: Dinner with family and friends to prepare for a future wedding.
- Reception: A meal for friends and family to celebrate a recent wedding.
- Family Reunion: A catch-all event for different cultures to come together as a family during a wedding.
- Bachelorette party : Outing with friends to celebrate the future wedding
- Engagement Dinner: Dinner with friends and family to celebrate the engagement.
You can choose the events you want, in the order you want to have a wedding to your taste.
Once you have chosen the type of event, you will have to make different choices, starting with the selection of your guests. For wedding and vow renewal ceremonies, you will need to choose witnesses, a master of ceremonies, a flower bearer, a ring bearer and traditional guests.
Given the importance of the role, you can only assign roles to your guests after asking them directly if they agree (or not) to be a witness for example. I insist on the "or not", the Sims can refuse. If the wedding takes place in several days, you can put everyone in the "guests" box and assign them the role later.
Then you can choose activities to do during the event. This will serve as a guide and indicate your Sims' taste for the party, but you won't be obliged to do everything. We'll come back to the different types of activities later in this article.
Finally, you will of course need to choose a location and time for the event to start. For weddings, a new "Wedding Venue" land type allows you to have everything ready in one place. Of course, you can still hold the ceremony at home or in a park, among other places.
The different events
Wedding ceremony
This is the central event, the wedding. During the wedding, your couple may request the following activities:
- Cutting the cake
- Dance
- Make a conjugal kiss
- Making a celebratory feast
- Eating desserts
- Drinking tea
- Toast
- Making bubbles
- Making speeches
- Doing the first dance
- Drink
- Walk down the center aisle
- Exchanging vows
- Throwing rice
Again, you can choose activities but they will not influence the success or failure of the party. A special feature of the wedding ceremony is the possibility to choose the dress style of the bride and groom already with the choice of the dress and/or the suit. You can also choose a dress code for the guests. You can force them to wear a certain style of dress or a particular color.
On this same screen you will see the choice of the cake. You can't make your selection directly here, you will have to order a cake or make it yourself and then click on it and choose it as your future cake.
All these settings can be changed right up to the big day. Your wedding preparations don't stop there. You can head to Tartosa's main square to do a little shopping. You'll find a clothing store where you can try on dressy outfits (in Create A Sim). Below, a small caravan offers flowers and bouquets for the groom or bride to hold as they walk down the aisle. If you have The Sims 4 Seasons, you can make your own bouquet in the workshop.
Once purchased, the bouquet will be in your inventory. Click on it to hold it in your hand. You can also place the bouquet on the ground or on a stand to put it in a vase.
Once the big day arrives, you will find the activities you selected at the top left of the screen.
Throughout the event, you'll find a new "Ceremonial Activities" category of interactions that contains a bunch of options to force your guests to all do the same thing like throw rice, dance or listen to the speech.
Renewal of wishes
The vow renewal ceremony is very similar to a traditional wedding except that it takes place between two Sims who have already been married for some time.
During this ceremony, you can choose the following activities:

Sim's bachelorette party
Conceived as small parties for friends, the Sims bachelorette parties send your little troupe out to the city's festive spots. The way they work, however, bears little resemblance to their equivalent in The Sims 3, which showed the party in all its excess. Here, you can choose from a range of activities:
- Dance
- Drinks
- Desserts
- Toast
- Celebration Feast
Rehearsal dinner, Reception, Family reunion, Engagement dinner
All dinners and other functions work the same way. You select guests, and activities from :
- Dance
- Drinks
- Tea
- Desserts

Organize a quick wedding at the town hall
If you don't want to bother with a party or a meal, you can celebrate a wedding directly at the town hall in Tartosa.
Please note that the town hall is only open between 9am and 6pm.
