Voici deux nouveautés de l’extension Sims 4 A La Fac qui vont suffisamment ensemble à mon avis pour les réunir dans le même article, l’un n’allant pas sans l’autre. Je vous présente la compétence robotique et leur création, les servos !
The Robotics competence
Robotics is a new skill in this expansion, along with Debates.
While it will be especially popular with Foxbury Institute students, who have all the necessary facilities in their common areas, there's nothing to stop you from doing it no matter where you come from. All you need is a workbench available in the Purchase Mode.
At the lowest levels of the skill, you are advised to "tinker" which will allow you to accumulate parts, necessary to build more complex objects like toys. Moving up the levels will unlock parts and items to build.
- Level 2 : Computer chips, mechanisms, remote controlled quadricopter
- Level 3 : Robot cleaner
- Level 4 : Festive robot
- Level 5 : Robot gardener
- Level 6 : Robot repairer
- Level 7 : Robotic arm
- Level 8 : Servos
- Level 9 : "Defense Matrix" module for Servos
- Level 10 : "Robot nanny" module for the Servos
We'll detail the Servos a bit later, but a few words about the simpler robots first. The quadricopter is simply a drone that your Sim can play with. The following robots are some kind of flying garbage cans (that's their shape...) that will perform different tasks depending on their type. Cleaning, gardening, repairing, playing music,...
The Servos
We just talked about it a few moments ago, Servos are robot creatures that can be created from the workbench. They require a lot of different parts and therefore time to make.
Once designed, you can choose to sell it for a few thousand simflouzs or activate it which will add it to your household. If you choose the second option, you will be asked for a few details like the sex of this robot because yes, you can make snap judgments with it.
Servos have slightly different needs than regular Sims. They need to be recharged instead of sleeping, and require regular maintenance by a Sim skilled in robotics. Conversely, they no longer need to eat or go to the bathroom.
If you wish, you can continue to upgrade your Servo at the same time as your robotic skill. This will allow it to unlock advantages such as a faster recharge or the addition of modules:
- Sims Defense Matrix Get rid of the Sims who crash, the paparazzi or the anti-vampires who wave garlic...
- Set up and disinfect : Turns the robot into a butler
- Nanny robot : Automates childcare
- Automatic repair : Repair objects in the vicinity
- Green technology : Takes care of the gardening
- Party Machine Add speakers to play music to the robot
The first upgrade can be done directly by the sim. For the following ones, your Servo will need to connect to the network in order to be updated. This takes a long, long, long time (count several Sims days easily). After several levels, the Servo will not even need the intervention of a Sim to be upgraded and will be able to do it alone.
