The Slice of Life was a Kawaiistacie mod that aimed to add more realism to the game! This mod added physical changes to sims based on mood, new followers, and a cell phone menu that's very similar to the social media mod! This mod applies to all sims, even those of NPCs.

KawaiiStacie, the creator of this mod, has decided to remove it and replace it with several smaller, separate mods, each covering a part of the themes covered. Today, only the "My Beauty" mod is available, which includes features on the themes of beauty and fashion.

The Slice of Life My Beauty module

The MyBeauty module is the first of the Slice of Life modules to have been extracted in this new version. It includes more detailed facial expressions, oral hygiene, beauty and skin care, and basic hairstyling! A good start for this new series of mods!

Before we begin, please note that the mod is available in two versions. Version "A" allows your Sims to change clothes, hairstyle and make-up autonomously, with the more or less random results you'd expect from Sims... Version "B" removes this autonomy. It's up to you to decide how much you trust your Sims... In both cases, you download one of the two versions before placing it in your game. You'll also find a French version on the blog ModSims4.

As I was saying, MyBeauty is divided into several functionalities. The first is physical transformations. Some of these are already included in the game, notably via the Sims 4 High School Years pack, which allows your Sims to develop acne. The mod unlocks this possibility for all teens in the base game.

Emotions now play a role in your characters' appearance. Sims in love may have blushing cheeks. Sad Sims will have tears in their eyes. In short, emotions will no longer be limited to the color around your Sim's head or their gait, but will now have a real impact!

The face is good, let's move on to the teeth! Thanks to the MyBeauty mod, your Sims can have bad breath. When this happens, it will influence the feelings of Sims around you, adding negative states of mind Embarrassed and adding a malus to social interactions. Bad breath is itself a state of mind that lasts for three hours and disappears automatically after that. Of course, you can also send your Sim to brush his teeth to make it disappear more quickly. Of course, if you're out exploring the jungle, you might want to consider cheating using UI Cheats to remove the state of mind in question but that's between us...

If your Sim is bothered by the smells of his friends, he can also suggest they take lozenges... It's discreet...

On the "self-care" front, your Sims can now have their own morning routine! Face masks, which are also available without the mod via the Relaxation at the Spa pack, improve your Sims' skin and make acne disappear if necessary. This revitalization will bring a state of confident mind for a few hours.

Once your Sim's skin is clean, you can apply your choice of make-up or perfume!

And finally, Sims can choose their style of the day. This part is more or less random, depending on the version you choose when downloading. On waking, your Sims now find themselves changing their hairstyle. There are two possible interactions: "natural hairstyle" or "risky hairstyle". Brave but not foolhardy, we'll limit ourselves to the natural hairstyle, which keeps our Sim's hair color. The result with risqué is, as its name suggests, more random...

The same applies to clothes, which your Sim can now choose for himself. If you're not happy with the result, just take a shower and your Sim returns to its original state!

What follows are modules from Slice of Life that no longer exist. They will probably be added again later by the mod creator in individual mods.

Personality system

Your sims can now have different personality types, which are based on human personality types. You will be able to choose between 16 personality types or let the game choose one on its own. If you are not interested or do not want certain sims to have a personality type, you can either remove this system or use the option to prevent that sim from having one.

These traits will affect your sims' social life, emotions, motivations, skills, career and independence. They will each have hobbies/activities they enjoy and will feel depressed if they don't do them for a while.

Memories

As in The Sims 2, your Sims can have memories of more or less happy events. When a Sim remembers an event, he or she receives a state of mind and can talk about it with other Sims.

Menstrual cycle

You will receive a stamp that will tell you the official start date of your menstrual cycle. Your sim must be in her teenage years to get her first period. The cycle will last 2 sim days and will return 12 days later.

Medication is available to regulate the effects of menstruation and pain. By clicking on the toilet, your Sims will be able to change tampons and pads and buy new ones.

Changes during the game

Other changes add more gameplay or realistic features to your sims.

Alcohol

Your Sims can become real drunks with the My alcohol module. The more your Sim drinks the more he will unlock "Drunk" states of mind and do "under the influence" interactions.

Phone applications

Applications for the phone! Apps allow you to develop different types of skills! For example, if you have the Explore Mod, you can develop your gaming skills with the poker app! You can find movies on SimFlix, go on social networks, send and receive messages etc...

Health and fitness system

Sims are now aware of insecurity.

We can become insecure about ourselves, but this can be changed by a compliment, a feeling of confidence or a nudge in the mirror.

You can ruin, repair or increase someone's confidence.

You can now check your measurements. (the results will be a moodlet/buff)

Disease system

Your sims can get a cold/flu, stomach ache, STD (infection) and headache. You can also pass these illnesses on to the Sims around you. As in real life, your sims can be treated with medication and also vaccinated.

Some chronic diseases are also present such as allergies, bad breath or congested bronchial tubes that will trigger symptoms depending on the weather.
