Rock n'roll decoration

Hello, dear readers! Normally, if you've been following along, since last week Vavaveau presented you with a variety of stylish and rocking outfits, it's time for de de? Archi Déco, of course! Alex, cue the jingle.
So I was saying... This week, as you're used to by now, the Gazette is going to present you with a piece created in the theme of the latest Dress Code. And today, I've decided to bring you a rock'n'roll salon! Are you ready?

Salon rock n roll

This week, I decided to bypass the clichés. When I thought of rock style, I immediately wanted to build a room in red and black. But several reasons made me change my mind: first of all, rock isn't limited to just these two colors, and what's more, red and black have already been used as the dominant colors for Gazette's Archi Déco issue 424... So let's start with the first image, which corresponds to the room's background! As you may have noticed, the floor at the back of the room is sagging... But how do you do that? I simply created a wall to divide the room in two and remove the sub-basement of the second room! Add a small staircase and you've got it. This corner is dedicated to music, as evidenced by the instruments and paintings!

This is the other side of the room. I found it very difficult to find furniture from the basic set that would fit in with this month's theme. So, in order to present you with something - otherwise our red friends would have slapped me on the wrist - I decided to innovate and use expensive, modern furniture and place it in a slightly grungier setting to create the illusion. For example, this sofa doesn't technically belong in a rock room; the same goes for the lamp or the table. By changing the colors of the basic furniture, however, I managed to find ways of making the room coherent. The wall decorations - the neon lights - also played a part in this feint. I added an easel, imagining that creative rockers might well take up painting too... And finally, I changed the color of the walls in the main room to something lighter, marking a boundary between the two parts.

It's my guilty pleasure to put at least one plant in all my rooms. Given that this room, which could very well be a converted garage, for example, has no windows, I wanted to add a touch of nature to the whole. I thought this plant was quite romantic, adding a touch of softness to the decor. I also added a bookcase; because, even if it's not the first thing you think of when you're imaging a rock room, you have to think of the sims who will live in this living room! I added a few other paintings to make sure the room didn't leave too many gaps. Finally, lighting was very important in the creation of this room: I like the idea of placing this type of lamp next to an armchair, for example, for reading.
