Life insurance
It has been brought to my attention that there is apparently no working life insurance mod for The Sims 4 at this time, and while I was asked to look into a pre-existing mod, I'm not comfortable doing so since the creator is still around, even though his mod hasn't been updated in a long time.
So I decided to create my own. Please read carefully, as claiming life insurance for Sims who have met an untimely (or timely?) death can be simple, but several conditions will need to be met.
Description
When a Sim dies, whether it's a parent or a spouse, your Sim will have the option to claim life insurance for them. Note that this only applies to deaths labeled as loss in the family, so you can't claim life insurance for the neighbors who I'm sure ate your pufferfish by accident. It is also individual, in that, for example, both your spouse and your children can claim and receive a payout, although there is no guarantee that it will be a good payout if you decide to try to cash out via your children ;D
Either way, you'll need a phone. You can't call Widowers Inc. Insurance Service for no reason, because they don't own a phone. They're content to stay in the shadows and mysteriously slip their contact information onto your phone whenever there's a loss in the family. While you're still suffering the effects of this 2-day state of mind following the death of your beloved Sim, you can request an insurance payment on the phone. This will give your Sim a state of mind that lasts for 3 days, signaling that his request is being processed.
However, since Widowers Inc. takes their services very seriously, you must observe the appropriate mourning period. Of course, they can't risk activating dangerous maniacs! So, while you should apply for insurance while having the loss in the family's memory, you will need to wait those two days and grieve properly for your deceased relative. Once this is done, before the 72 hours since you placed your application are up, you can check the status of your insurance application.
Assuming that Widowers Inc. understands that your request is legitimate (and it always is, unless you let the mourning period pass before making your request or you let the 72 hours pass), you will receive a random payment from Widowers Inc. It can be anywhere from 1,000 to 50,000 Simflouz. Why "so little"? Because several parents may receive different amounts, since they are not always in the same household.
The alternative explanation would be that the payment is random because Widowers Inc. does not trust people not to indirectly cause the premature reaping of their spouses.
Anyway, I think that should cover all the details.
It's a fairly simple mod, compared to others I've made before, but I wanted it to be different from existing older mods, so I apologize to those who missed the insurance mods made by other creators, since I made mine to be different.
