News from the René Project
If you were wondering, René is fine. He's making slow but steady progress, and it was SimGuruGrant who came along to give him a quick introduction. Grant is a developer who's been with The Sims for several installments now, and he's a well-known figure among developers, so he's in charge of bringing the project to fruition by a date we still don't know more precisely, if not "not for years".
Although we don't know the date, we did get a few more details, notably on the fact that the game will be playable in single-player or multiplayer, the choice is up to you, and the switch looks like it can be made whenever you want. A few more development images have been released, again focusing on the Purchase Mode.
In any case, Maxis seems quite satisfied with the first test phase, which was launched some time ago with a number of players. The game has been tested on both PC and mobile.
Updates for The Sims Mobile and Freeplay

Update with infants on March 14
It's now official: infants are coming to The Sims 4, and will be available via an update on March 14.
Infants will be customizable in Create A Sim, just like other Sims, except that they'll be sitting on a cushion. A new extension unveiled on February 2
Thursday sees the release of the trailer for the next Sims 4 expansion pack. There's not much more information about it at the moment other than the infant update date mentioned above.
