Legacy challenge and tips to avoid boredom in The Sims 4

Est-ce que vous êtes le genre de Simmer qui adore jouer avec des familles et plusieurs générations, mais en l’absence de nouveau pack, vous n’arrivez plus à trouver à quoi jouer ? Vous aimeriez connaitre quelques astuces pour éviter de tourner en rond ? Et bien allons-y, nous allons vous aider à trouver de l’inspiration pour rejouer aux Sims 4 !

The challenges

Depuis des années maintenant, des tonnes de challenges ont poussé les joueurs à créer de nouvelles histoires intéressantes, pour eux-mêmes ou pour les partager avec les autres. Voici quelques challenges que j’adore refaire de temps en temps

Rags to riches - From poverty to wealth

Les joueurs diffèrent un peu d’un joueur à l’autre mais l’idée générale est la même ; créer un Sim, emménager sur un terrain vide et démarrer avec 0 simflouz. A partir de là, vous devez vous faire de l’argent, de la manière que vous souhaitez, afin de construire votre maison et gagner autant d’argent que vous voulez pour terminer le défi. Un bon exemple pourrait être le million de simflouzs. Les règles peuvent être strictes, les joueurs choisissent généralement celles qu’ils veulent suivre pour commencer. En voici quelques exemples :

• The starting Sim must be a young adult
• The starting fireplace must be empty and have 0 money
• The Sim must not have a job
• Interdiction d’utiliser les maisons des voisins ou les terrains communautaires pour dormir, manger, … (peut-être ignoré si vous voulez un challenge moins compliqué)
• Les codes de triche qui rendraient le défi plus facile sont interdits (ceux qui concernent l’argent ou les compétences). Vous pouvez éventuellement utiliser freerealestate pour acheter le terrain de départ.

How you make money is mainly up to you. The easiest way is to take a look at the stones and other collections in the world to resell them.

Dans certaines versions du challenge, vendre depuis l’inventaire n’est pas autorisé. JamesTurner joue de cette façon par exemple. Par contre, il a le droit d’utiliser les tables de vente (disponibles avec Vie Citadine, Dans la Jungle, Ecologie). Si vous n’en avez pas, vous pouvez simplement les revendre depuis l’inventaire, la seule différence c’est que vous ne pouvez pas définir vos propres prix de cette manière. Si vous avez suffisamment d’argent, vous pouvez ouvrir votre propre boutique avec Au Travail pour revendre vos produits.

The rest is in your hands! As long as you earn money without having a job, you can build and decorate your house as you wish, have a family, do whatever you want!

100 Baby Challenge

You've probably already heard of this challenge, but just in case, here's a summary: have 100 babies. For real. It's as simple as that. The idea is to have 100 babies in as few generations as possible. Here are a few rules:

• The starting Sim must be a young adult. It can be a Sim or a Simette as long as it can have babies.
• The Sim cannot get married until they are no longer the current "mother".
• Concubines do not have to live on the same property. If you play a Sim who can get pregnant, you can move in with the mother to ensure that the baby is added to the household and then move back in.
• You can have a job, but it may be better to have a home-based job so you can keep an eye on everyone.
• Babies can only grow old when you receive notification of their birthday.
• Toddlers must wait for the maximum level of three skills, or level 3 of all skills. Depending on your level of difficulty.
• Children and teens can only grow old after getting an A in school.
• Once a teenager gets older, you must kick them out of the home unless they are the primary heir or you need them to help the parent.
• The heir can be chosen as you wish. You can designate an heir when your current sim becomes an elderly person.
• The challenge ends once your 100th child has reached young adulthood.

That's it! If you want you can continue playing with this hundredth child! I can't imagine the look on his family tree...

Legacy Challenge

This challenge is a bit similar to the previous two since you start with a young adult with little money, but the goal here is to bring 10 generations to life. Things can get a little rough. There are a few things to remember in this challenge, they are called "Laws of Succession".

• Gender rules
  • Matriarchy: The starting Sim and her heirs are Simettes unless there is no girl child. In this case, boys are eligible.
  • Strict matriarchy: The starting Sim and his heirs are Simettes. No exceptions.
  • Patriarchy: The starting Sim and his heirs are Sims unless there are no boy children. In this case, girls are eligible.
  • Strict patriarchy: The starting Sim and his heirs are Sims. No exceptions.
  • Equal: The starting Sim can be a Sim or a Simette. No rules for heirs.
  • Strict Equal: The starting Sim can be a Sim or a Simette. The heir must be of the opposite sex.
• Blood rules
  • Strictly traditional: Heirs must always be related by blood to the original Sim.
  • Traditional: The heir should preferably be related by blood to the original Sim. If the parents have no children, an adopted sim can inherit.
  • Modern: Heirs may be related by blood or adopted.
  • Receiver: The heir must be adopted unless there is no child to be adopted in which case a natural child may inherit.
  • Strict host: The heirs must be adoptive.
• The rules of inheritance
  • First born: Only the first born of this generation can be the heir.
  • Last born: Only the last born of this generation can be the heir.
  • Random: The heir can be selected randomly. You can use a random number generator or a wheel of fortune with the names on it.

Il y a plusieurs autres règles que vous pouvez trouver sur ce site du Legacy Challenge et vous pouvez être aussi strict ou tranquille que vous le voulez avec ces consignes. Dans tous les cas, amusez-vous ! C’est toujours génial de jouer avec la même famille pendant 10 générations parce que vous vous attachez à eux. Ne soyez pas trop triste quand votre sim de départ va mourrir.

I know it's a bit vague, but if you get stuck in The Sims, the easiest thing to do, let alone challenge yourself, is to watch others play. Why not watch videos from one of your favorite youtubers, or take a look at some Simstagrams.

Lots of great builders are posting their creations on Simstagram, and even if you're not a builder yourself, you can simply upload a plot to the Gallery to tell your own stories afterwards!

Si vous êtes coincé dans une partie, fatigué de toujours jouer avec le même foyer, ou incapable de trouver de nouvelles idées pour vous motiver, vous avez besoin d’un peu de « waouh » pour vous pousser ? Pourquoi ne pas jeter un oeil aux machinimas, ces films réalisés avec le jeu. Nos amis de SupInMedia ont un magazine qui leur est consacré. Vous y trouverez des tas d’histoires en vidéos, toutes plus intéressantes les unes que les autres. Et ce n’est pas la même chose que regarder du gameplay. C’est un film, mais avec des sims en tant qu’acteurs. C’est un bon moyen de trouver de l’inspiration pour vos Sims, vos constructions et même le fil conducteur que votre famille suivra.

You'll encounter this problem regularly. It's good to change from time to time, but it's also okay to play with a new family. If you like these little tricks, the best thing to do is to do them again and again. Find new challenges, new videos, builds or games to play with.
