How to become a werewolf in The Sims 4?
There are several methods to become a werewolf. Some are faster and more direct than others.
Via the Create a Sim
You can turn a sim into a werewolf directly from the Create Sim. To do so, click on the icon to create a sim, go to create a creature and choose werewolf.
Werewolves have two forms. A normal form for their everyday life and a bestial form that they use once transformed. By default, the bestial form is linked to your normal form, which means that your werewolf looks physically and clothing-wise like your Sim, but with more hair. You can change this by clicking on the links. This will allow you to modify the Sim's physique without affecting the werewolf's and vice versa.
By the way, you can create a werewolf of any age from the Create A Sim. Toddlers and children just won't have a beastly form.

As usual, you can also manually change the different strokes or take from the default ones shown above.
You can also change the wolf's coat, choose predefined colors or paint on the hair with custom brushes.

Genetics
Werewolves can make snap judgments and thus have children. There is a certain percentage of chance (or risk, depending on your point of view) that the child will inherit the genes of its parent and will also become a werewolf. Note that the powers will appear from adolescence. Only certain interactions are possible before that, like howling at the moon.
Getting bitten
Once your werewolf unlocks the "Curse Bearer" ability it can bite other Sims to pass on the curse. If you have a normal Sim, you can have a cursed wolf bite you.
Your Sim will try to resist and the transformation will take several hours during which the Sim will go through different phases, some painful, some where he will be very hungry etc... If your Sim was bitten by accident, during a fight for example, he has some time to look for a remedy. You can find one in the bar of Moonwood Mill.
With a cheat code
If you really don't have time, you can use the cheat code to turn your Sim into a werewolf. Open the cheat sheetactivate the testingcheats true then enter traits.equip_trait trait_OccultWerewolf
To cancel the transformation in the same way, type traits.remove_trait trait_OccultWerewolf
Playing with werewolves
Now that your Sim is a werewolf, you need to learn how to play with it. Werewolves function like most other creatures. Their needs are pretty much the same as other Sims, they have a fury gauge that determines when they transform and a skill level that unlocks benefits.
The fury
The fury gauge is one of the essential points to know how to manage in the life of a werewolf. This gauge fills up slowly during the day and according to certain interactions. The more this gauge fills up, the more angry your Sim will appear. At the maximum he will turn into a werewolf and destroy everything in his path.
The filling of the gauge is accelerated if your Sim performs certain interactions, especially if he does actions he does not like or if it is a night of full moon. Another thing to know is that every werewolf has a temperament. Temperaments are a kind of automatically generated extra character traits that give you some kind of weakness. In the picture above for example, the moon symbol indicates that the wolf does not like the daytime. If he goes out or does actions during the day, he will gain fury.
Even though the temperament is chosen randomly, there is a good chance that it is related to your Sim's character traits. Mine, for example, is a dancing machine, so he was already enjoying going out at night.
The different temperaments are :
- Nocturnal wolves : Prefers to sleep during the day and get furious during the day
- Riddled with guilt Sims get more fury when they are sad and feel remorseful about their actions.
- Mark of the night With this mark, natural fury gains and energy requirement degradations are reduced.
- Growling Wolves More need for rest. Waking up a Sim increases his fury.
- Restless animals Feel locked in when they are inside and increase in fury if they have nothing to do
- Survival instinct Increased fury when sims are frightened or tense.
- Anti-capitalist canines : Increase of the fury when sims go to work
- Must be clean Increased fury if the hygiene requirement is low. Werewolves enjoy licking their fur from time to time.
- Hunger of wolf Increased fury if hunger need is low. Can be suddenly hungry, very hungry.
- Very enthusiastic Increased fury when sims are in a happy mood, watching TV or playing video games.
- Mark of the forest Natural Fury gains and degradation of the Entertainment requirement are reduced.
- proud Increased fury when sims are embarrassed or uncomfortable.
- Carnivore If these Sims eat anything other than fresh meat, their rage will increase
- Feel excluded : Increase of the fury if the social need is low
- Folatres : Increase of fury if the Sim is in a playful mood
- Hate to get wet The fury increases if the Sims take the water under the shower or in the rain.
The werewolf faculties
Werewolves have different powers that are unlocked as you climb the ranks of the wolves. There are several ranks of wolves:
- Puppy
- Young werewolf
- Werewolf in great shape
- Veteran
- Ultimate werewolf
5 faculties are unlocked per level, knowing that some of them are interdependent.
Puppy level
- Ferocity Intimidate other Sims for fun or to get things
- Wolf nap : Sleep anywhere on the floor
- Marking of territory Leave a mark on the world and relieve your bladder
- Digger : Unearth treasures and lost objects
- Personal grooming : Lick all the dirt
Young werewolf level
- Voracious hunger : Devour objects to satisfy your hunger
- Hunter Learn how to hunt for your food.
- Willingness to resist : Taking control during a fury
- Improved sense of smell : Flirt with information or treasures
- Dark howling : Learn a howl that reduces fury
Werewolf level in great shape
- Lunar Blessing Expand the benefits of the moon cycle
- Night vision Explore more with improved vision
- Natural healing : Recover faster from injuries
- Howling pack : Howl to the pack to satisfy your social needs
- Bearer of the curse Transform other Sims by biting them
Veteran level
- Terrifying howl : Let out a terrifying howl
- Group hunting : Go hunting with several people (requires Hunter)
- Lunar resistance Protect yourself from the effects of the moon
- Tunnel creator Move quickly through the world by digging tunnels
- Primitive instinct : Trust your instincts to improve your self-confidence
Ultimate werewolf level
- Supervision : Run at a high speed
- Alpha wolf Win most of the battles against other werewolves
- Immortal wolf Become immortal (requires Natural Healing)
- Natural howling : Howl at the moon to change your temperament
- Werewolf heritage : Turn faculty points into satisfaction points
In addition to these abilities, six additional faculties can be unlocked based on interactions
- Werewolf Empathy Helps appease other werewolves. Unlocked by reaching delta rank in a pack.
- Lunar illumination Allows you to read old books about werewolves. Unlocked by reading werewolf books.
- Teaching werewolf Teach other werewolves things. Unlocked by performing the interactions "Practice Howling", "Share Werewolf Experiences" or "Give Pack Advice" as a veteran werewolf on a werewolf who is good friends.
- Werewolf threat Have fun scaring Sims without feeling guilty about it. Unlocked by performing the "Fierce Intimidation", "Turn into a Werewolf", or "Terrifying Howl" interactions on a Sim who is already scared but hasn't reached the maximum level of fury
- Werewolf diplomacy Use diplomacy to create werewolf allies. Unlock by asking for compassion for werewolves from a normal sim.
- Control of the transformation Unlocked by preventing the werewolf from scaring other sims during a fury.
The packs
There are two packs in Moonwood Hill: the Moon Collective and the Wild Fangs. Of course the two packs are rivals and the cohabitation is a bit complicated.
Packs function like Vivre Ensemble groups, with a set of values that their members must respect. If they fail to do so, they can be scolded or kicked out of the pack.
As in life, packs are composed of several levels, ranging from Delta to Alpha. The more you participate in the activities of the pack, the more you contribute positively to its evolution, the more you will increase in level until the Beta rank. From there, you will have to face the Alpha wolf in a duel. If you win you will become the leader of the pack. If you don't...
Each pack has a base camp. A small prefab for the Wild Fangs and a tree for the Moon Collective. The pack leader can decorate the camp and the members can contribute by bringing resources or by using the facilities (bed, shower, toilet) that are there.
If your Sim is not yet a member of a pack, you can join one. Start by clicking on the base camp of the pack you wish to join to locate the leader. Once there, introduce yourself and ask to be a friend of the pack. You will need to be friendly enough with the leader to complete this first step.
Then things get complicated. To join the pack, you'll need to complete three challenges among :
- Giving excellent quality food
- Donate an unusual or rare collectible
- Discuss lunar illumination (requires Lunar Illumination)
- Demonstrate a pack howl (requires the Pack Howl ability)
If you are at a low level of werewolf, you can focus on the first three points that do not require an advanced level (Moonlighting only requires reading a book).
Once joined, you can train to fight with the other werewolves. More or less positive challenges that will give you experience points and some bruises...
Werewolf gameplay
Being a werewolf unlocks some special interactions, some of which are added by the abilities mentioned above.
Most wolves will have to settle for the "Howl" interaction. The more you progress, the more options you'll unlock.
By clicking on some objects, you will have the possibility to scratch them which can increase your fury gauge.
If you don't want to play with werewolves outside of Moonwood Mill, you can disable the beastly forms in the game settings.
Also note that werewolves, like other creatures, are sensitive to the moon cycle. The full moon will force them to transform, but the other phases will influence your Sim's abilities, such as accelerating their skills.
