We're going back to 2006 today! 2006 was the year of release of The Sims 2 Animals & Co. expansion, or rather, the additional disc as it was known back then. This DLC was an opportunity to discover dogs and cats roaming the land without being able to control them, to meet werewolves and also to discover three new careers reserved for animals!
And yes, in The Sims 2 you could also make your dogs and cats work to earn a few simflouzs. Just like other Sims, pets can find careers, get promoted and earn rewards! A feature that will be unique to The Sims 2, as in later opuses pets will be content to tear up your sofa.
There are three pet careers in the game: Security, Services and Showbiz. These three careers are identical for dogs and cats, with just one difference: the salary is higher for cats (no wonder they rule the world afterwards).
To advance to the next level of the profession, your animals will need to have learned certain commands. For example, a contraband-sniffing dog will need to have learned, among other things, to play dead. By filling the progress gauge, your pet will be promised and unlock a reward, mainly coat colors or collars.
These quarries each have 4 levels.
Career Services for dogs and cats
If your pet is full of kindness, humanism and generosity, he'll love the Services profession. It's the Sims equivalent of Medicine, with an ambulance that picks up your pet and takes him to his place of work.

Military cats and dogs exist in The Sims 2! On any given day, your pet could be guarding a supermarket, a cargo port or the streets of Simcity! You've heard of guard dogs, now you'll also discover guard cats!
