The rules for the 100 Babies Challenge in 2023

If you've ever been bored by The Sims 4, you're bound to have come across the 100 Baby Challenge. A challenge where you have to reach 100 babies in as few generations as possible.

Snarky Sims which publishes the official 100 Baby Challenge rules, has updated them. Five new rules have been introduced:

  • Newborns cannot be aged until they receive notification on their birthday.
  • Infants can grow old once they've experienced all the baby foods. They must age with either the "Happy Infant" or "Top Infant" trait. They can only be unlocked once you've taken good care of your little Sim. So that adds a little extra difficulty.
  • Infants only need 3 pureed foods and 1 quick meal. However, they need to reach the "Learned to crawl" and "Learned thumb-index clamp" milestones before they grow up.
  • Children can't grow old until they have an A grade AND the "high self-confidence" trait.
  • The matriarch can accept a change of character trait. She can also invite other Sims and must encourage them to relax. She cannot ask them to help her. She cannot accept a move-in proposal from a guest. Social events, baby showers etc. are permitted.
The rules for the 100 Babies Challenge in 2023

If you haven't heard of the 100 Babies Challenge, here's a reminder of the basic rules:

  • The starting Sim must be a young adult. It can be a Sim or a Simette as long as it can have babies.
  • The Sim can't marry as long as he's no longer the current "mother".
  • Concubines do not have to live on the same property. If you play a Sim who can get pregnant, you can move in with the mother to ensure that the baby is added to the household and then move back in.
  • You can have a job, but it may be better to have a home-based job so you can keep an eye on everyone.
  • Babies can only grow old when you receive notification of their birthday.
  • Toddlers have to wait for the maximum level of three skills, or level 3 of all skills. Depending on your level of difficulty.
  • Teenagers can't grow old until they get an A in school.
  • Once a teenager gets older, you must kick them out of the home unless they are the primary heir or you need them to help the parent.
  • The heir can be chosen as you wish. You can designate an heir when your current sim becomes an elderly person.
  • The challenge ends once your 100th child has reached young adulthood.
