The different campuses have more or less three large dormitories each. This is an economical way for young adults to live since dormitories can be summarized as communal accommodations with common areas that have all the necessities for living, and a dozen rooms where sims return at night.
When you join a dormitory, the game starts by inviting you to choose a room. Hurry as new residents arrive to populate the other rooms. Click on a door to designate the room you want to move into.
Like any common space filled with young adults, cleanliness may not be the strong suit of the house. It is therefore quite possible that you will have to clean the toilets or the showers from time to time. Cooking is done by a staff member who comes every day between 7am and 12am.
If you need some pocket money, you can choose to replace him and cook for the other sims instead.
