A mod in which Sims have relationship preferences (exclusive, non-exclusive, either/or) and can try to live their best love - provided their partner(s) have the same preference, otherwise tears may be on the menu....
Relationship preferences
Sims now have relationship preferences and exclusivity.
They can ask each other to be non-exclusivewhich can mean being polyamorous or in an open relationship or just about anything else! The general formulation is to be inclusive.
Sims with the same preference will be happier than Sims with opposite preferences. Indifferent Sims are relaxed and can live with anything.
All Sims in the world at least one year old will automatically be assigned a preference.
50 % of them will prefer to be exclusive, 25 % indifferent and 25 % non-exclusive.
You can change the preferences of your Sim or another Sim by clicking on the preference of the person you wish to modify and going to the Actions menu.
Conclusion of a non-exclusive agreement
TheSims who agree to be non-exclusive will NOT show jealousy towards each other (unless they have the jealous trait, in which case they can get a jealous moodlet).
Will they accept or refuse?
Sims who prefer non-exclusive relationships always accept.
Sims who prefer exclusive relationships are 30 % more likely to accept.
Indifferent sims have a 50 % chance of accepting.
Refusal triggers this result, which disappears after 2 days simwhich allows you to request it again at that time, but not before.
Acceptance triggers this result:
Moodlets granted by accepting or refusing and by complaining, enthusing or asking to become exclusive depend entirely on each Sim's preference and that of the other Sim.
Can NPCs ask my Sim independently?
In a way, but only under special circumstances. Your Sim must "Request preference for a non-exclusive relationship". . Now it's possible when there's a certain romance between Sims.
Then, if the listener is neutral, there's a 50% chance he'll ask within 24 hours to become non-exclusive, and if he prefers a non-exclusive relationship, a 100% chance (this may change later). He will be a phone callSo ask your Sim to pick up the phone if you want the options!
Sims can :
– Ask to become exclusive, Moodlets and acceptance depend on each Sim's preference.
- S'enthusiasm for a non-exclusive relationship (if they have one and are neutral/non-exclusive). Moodlets depend on each Sim's preferences.
– Complaining about a non-exclusive relationship (if you're in a relationship and are neutral / inclined to exclusivity). Moodlets depend on each Sim's preference.
– Confess its jealousy (if you're in a non-exclusive relationship and have a preference for exclusivity). Moodlets depend on each Sim's preferences.
– Ask if he has other partnersIf no response is forthcoming, the sees no one else. I couldn't post a notification for this reply due to the way things are coded. If he has another partner, he'll let you know with a notification.
–Talk about another partner,if it's a non-exclusive relationship and he has several partners. Reactions may vary according to preferences...

3-Sim pairs and lateral partners
- TheSims can now have 3-Sim Couples: exclusive between the 3 and not jealous within the triad, but will be jealous if one of the others goes with someone outside the triad.
- TheSims in an exclusive relationship can now have an "Approved Lateral Lover": with their partner's approval, they can WooHoo with another specified Sim without causing annoyance or jealousy. If partner A has obtained approval to have a side partner, if one day B asks A to have a side partner too, A will obligatorily accept, in the interests of fairness.
- So Sims can request the addition of a partner, there must first be a certain romance between the Sim asking and the potential additional partner.
- TheSims will accept or refuse these arrangements according to their relationship preferences. and a little luck.
- If a Sim asks to have one of these relationships and his partner accepts, it will send a message to the third party to inform them of this. The third party will react according to its relationship preferences.
NOTE THAT THERE IS A LIMITATION for now: A sim who has multiple exclusive relationships with others and also has a secret, cheating partner on the side who isn't part of that relationship - if that partner sees them together, he won't react. Only if the members of the triad see this will they react with jealousy.
ADVICE AND INFORMATION
-You want toyour Sims to be non-exclusive, but they refused. / can't be bothered to ask? You can either wait until you can ask again (2 sim days), or trick the relationship by going to the Actions menu.
– You want to delete a relationship? You can do this from the Actions menu by clicking on the other Sim.
- You want to delete ALL your Sim's non-exclusive relationships? You can do this by clicking on your Sim and going to the Actions menu.
- You want your Sims to be polyamorous? Make sure they prefer non-exclusive relationships! If not, change it in the Actions menu. Then they'll both be happy with the look of multiple partners. Don't forget that the game allows you to have several boyfriends/girlfriends/SOs by default.So your Sims can ask several others to be Significant Others, and if they're in a non-exclusive relationship, everyone will be non-jealous.
-You want toa Sim is never jealous, even if he or she is not in a non-exclusive relationship? Click on the Sim, go to the Actions menu and click on "Make the Sim totally incapable of being jealous". You'll get a trait (remember that all Sims in non-exclusive relationships are automatically non-jealous of each other).
THE BREAK
If Sims separate or divorce, the non-exclusive relationship between them will also disappear.
If one Sim becomes exclusive with another, all other non-exclusive links are broken, since this Sim is now officially exclusive; but not the romance between these other Sims.The Sim who has become exclusive must manually break up with everyone, or let relationships fade away...
You can also delete non-exclusive arrangements viaan interaction in the "Relationship type" menu.
You can also delete a non-exclusive relationship by clicking on the other Sim and going to the Actions menu.
OTHER THINGS :
Sims with a non-exclusive penchant will more readily accept romantic interactions from new Sims. Sims with an exclusive bent won't accept this as easily.
