Arrived in parallel to the feelings, the lifestyles are an exclusiveness of the extension The Sims 4 Snowy Escape. They are unlocked by performing certain interactions and once unlocked, they influence the behavior of your characters.

As the description says, not all your actions will influence these new traits, a limited number each day will be taken into account. By looking at the screen, you can see which styles are blocked (you haven't done any action to unlock them), in progress (you have started to do actions unlocking this style) and unlocked.
