Welcome, Sims fans! The development of our community item kit is well underway, and it's about time we gave it an official name. If you're new to this project, this is the fifth vote to guide the development of this kit, and I invite you to read this information about the results of the previous votes. We've recently entered the production phase, which means we're working hard to create a number of features to add laundry to the game... we'll tell you more about that soon.
Today, you will vote to choose from four carefully selected names. These names have undergone the same meticulous selection process that we normally use. To begin, producers and members of our marketing team get together and gather their ideas to create an initial list. Then we narrow the list down to our favorite names. After validating this short list with internal business groups, we pass it on to EA teams in many countries around the world where The Sims is sold. They help us do a final check that the translations retain the intent of the original title and don't cause any unforeseen cultural or linguistic issues.
We have completed the above steps and have selected four potential names for this object kit. They are approved by all our territories. Now we just need your input:

When selecting a name, our main criterion is that the name describes the contents of the kit, so that it can attract attention. Item kits in particular are smaller than other packs for The Sims, so we usually opt for straightforward, clear names. The recent release of the "Toddler Item Kit" is a fantastic example that tells you right away if you want to know more about the contents of the kit. Another example from the catalog: the "In the Kitchen" item set also directly announces the theme of the set.
For this particular survey, I'm going to share with you two fun examples that we considered but didn't end up with. First, for the English title, we thought of "Stuffy McStuff Pack". If you don't understand the reference, do a quick search online for the amusing case "Boaty McBoatface"! While this option had the advantage of having the satirical humor common in The Sims, we felt that this title gave no information about the contents of the kit. We also considered a name that would sum up what this community project represents: "Player Choice Stuff". In the end, we felt that this name was a bit exclusionary to those who did not participate in the project, especially since the project does not have a dedicated web portal where players could learn about the history of the kit over several years.
The great news is that the development of the kit is now in full swing. Last week we entered the "production" phase, where all disciplines are actively working on the new features that will be included. Previously, we were in the "pre-production" phase, which began when the project was announced in April. Pre-production allows us to do all the work of planning exactly what we are going to create, so that the production goes smoothly. During this stage, we wrote feature descriptions, drew concepts and had meetings to discuss how to make these new features work. Now that production has begun, we'll soon have some actual game progress to share with you!
