A user has found this little gem which has the function of getting rid of .package files that are incompatible with the game and that create pretty blue squares.
Yes I know, it's difficult to test your .package because a lot of files will unfortunately be disabled and you will lose some of your downloads but it's really useful because definitely, you will be rid of your blue square problems.

Instructions for use
Download this utility on your desktop by giving it a folder name ("Dashboard" for example), then double-click on the "Sims3Dashboard" file. (be sure to export all files - including .dll - in this same folder)
The utility will open and test your downloads immediately. It will define by color the actions to perform for each file:
The files marked in red are said to be corrupted, unfortunately you will have to select them, click on "action" then "disabled packages". These files will then be deleted. It sometimes happens that not all files are deleted immediately. Repeat the operation until this is the case.
- Files marked in yellow are simply duplicated, so you can also delete them to make some space without fear of losing the object in question.
- The files marked in brown create conflicts between them, so unfortunately you have to give up one or the other file. However, it seems that if these two files come from the same download site and have been created by the same author, their conflict is not a problem for the proper functioning of your game.
- Les fichiers signalés en bleu foncé ne sont pas conçut pour être installé dans les Sims 3 mais dans l’opus précédent du jeu, les Sims 2. Vous pouvez donc les supprimer puisqu’ils n’apparaitront de toute façon pas dans votre jeu.
You can also select the files by category by choosing "Filter" and make your cleaning easier.
