Add weather to your Sims' lives to enjoy seasonal activities and celebrate exciting holidays with The Sims 4 Seasons.
The weather and its consequences are coming to The Sims 4. Rain, sun, snow and fog fall in the game's various cities. Some weather events can even be dangerous, such as snowstorms, heat waves or thunderstorms.
Take advantage of these new seasons to enjoy activities such as snowmen, beekeeping, skating or swimming.
For our first game, since there are no new towns in this add-on, we went to discover Windenburg, the peaceful little town that arrived with the Living Together add-on. There are several ways to find out the current weather and forecast: look out your window, watch the forecast on TV, open the calendar or hover over the little icons that appear around the time.
Each type of weather will have an impact on the Sims. Thunderstorms will make them uncomfortable, blizzards will keep your sims from moving forward by freezing them in place, and rain will make your characters stay indoors.
Available in the Purchase Mode for 1500 simflouzs, the weather control machine allows you to select the weather of your Sims as you wish. We show you how it works.
Once installed, there is not much left to do, just click on it and select the part you want to modify, whether it is the temperature or the time itself.
Once set, your Sim will fiddle with the machine until lightning strikes the sky. Depending on your level of tinkering or your state of mind, the operation may succeed or fail. Oh, and just to clarify, failing means getting struck by lightning... So don't try it several times in a row...
To maximize your chances of success, DIY-savvy Sims will be able to make improvements to the device.
The new in-game calendar also introduces public holidays. Celebrate Santa's arrival for Christmas, ring in the New Year, search for eggs for Easter and create your own traditions.
Other events can be present in the calendar such as promotion days, events that you organize.
Your agenda is now at the heart of the game. Accessible next to the telephone icon, it lets you consult the schedule for the next 4 weeks. On this calendar, you can see, day by day, whether you're working or not, when the next public holidays are, the various parties and events you can organize, and what the weather will be like in the days ahead.
Here are the default holidays:
During our game, an extra holiday appeared in the summer, a kind of sale day where the whole Buy Mode catalog was at -50%. We'll see if this kind of event comes back randomly, but it's very interesting anyway.
You can create your own holidays for more or less varied reasons and with somewhat random customs such as congratulating each other or undressing...
You can choose from these traditions:
Before we start to discover the impact of seasons on your game, let's start by setting them up. In the game options window, you have a new tab that lets you choose the length of the seasons (7/14/28 days), the intensity of the possible precipitation (rain and storm / rain only / no precipitation) and the same for snow (snow and storm / snow only / no snow).
Once everything is ready you can start a game. Before entering the world, the game will ask you the first time with which season you want to start via this screen:
Whatever the season, the developers have thought of keeping you busy! During the warm weather, you can enjoy a dip in the kiddie pool or have a water bomb fight with your friends. In the spring, there's nothing better than a little swing to cool off. In winter, the ice rink is a safe choice. Speaking of the rink, you can change the lights and effects (confetti, snow, stars, etc...) that will animate your exploits.
Where there's weather, there's clothing. You can't go out in a bathing suit when it's snowing outside! Your wardrobe has been expanded, and two new outfit categories have been added: cold-weather outfits and warm-weather outfits. I don't think we need to go into detail about what they're for - they act as outdoor outfits as soon as the temperature changes, as in the third opus.
Numerous outfits made their appearance. Some more or less original, to say the least (unless you're used to dressing up as a garden gnome or a bunny at the office).
This time, the gentlemen have not been forgotten! They now have access to beach marcels, down jackets and pom-pom hats. In terms of hairstyles, I'm partial to the chignon-à-la-va-vite-dread-locks mix (that's the shortest name I can think of).
Here, too, we've added a few cute outfits for your little pixels. Note that toddlers now have access to swimwear via the latest update. Fans of French chanson will be delighted by the added hairstyles and the tribute to Mireille Mathieu... and if you forgot to buy your Christmas tree this year, your toddler will do just fine, just take a look at this small selection...
Hello construction enthusiasts! In the Seasons version of Construction mode, you won't find much that's new, apart from a few wooden or stone wall motifs, cottage-style doors and the associated windows. As glass roofs have been added via an update for all players, they won't be tried out here.
As far as objects are concerned, everything you need to survive the different seasons is here. Christmas decorations (to be added to those in the free kit), spider webs for Halloween and swings and water games for summer.
Fans of gardening will also be delighted by the presence of new floral decorations accompanied by the famous bouquet creation table, ideal for professional florists or to enhance your skills.
Inside, you'll find a little bit of everything: corner armchairs, large coffee tables, umbrella stands and coat racks. In the bedrooms, single and double beds are available.

The effects of weather on the various cities are very well done. Plenty of new content to keep everyone happy. The outfits may not be suitable for everyday use.
